RTG Container Gantry Crane Description

Rubber-Tyred Gantry Crane (RTG) is an efficient container handling equipment widely in ports and yards. Its main structure includes main beam, outriggers, tire running system and lifting trolley.

Main beam is the core load-bearing part of RTG gantry crane, with good rigidity and stability, and can withstand heavy loads. Guide rails are installed above the main beam for the lifting trolley to move. The outriggers are at both ends of the main beam, supporting the entire structure and ensuring its stability during operation. Large rubber tires are at the bottom of the outriggers, allowing the RTG to move flexibly in the yard to meet the needs of different working positions.

Its tire running system consists of multiple drive wheels, each of which is equipped with an independent motor and brake system to ensure the smooth driving and precise positioning in the yard. The lifting trolley is under the main beam and it has an electric or hydraulic winch for lifting and moving containers. The trolley can move laterally on the guide rails to achieve precise placement of containers.

RTG gantry crane also have an advanced electrical control system that integrates PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), sensors and multiple safety protection devices. This design makes RTG an indispensable and efficient container handling tool in modern ports and yards.
