In July 2025, Henan Dafang Heavy Machine Co., Ltd. received a tender email from Kazakhstan for 10 container gantry cranes. As a core land hub along the Belt and Road, Kazakhstan has prioritized port infrastructure upgrades to align with China-Europe Railway Express routes.
After submitting materials and communicating continuously for half a month, our company successfully grasped this opportunity. After winning the bid, we further discussed the project details and expedited the filing process and the start of production.
Recently, 10 sets of RTG container gantry cranes loaded by a fleet of heavy trucks departed its production base in Changyuan Industrial Zone, Xinxiang City, China for Kazakhstan. This export cooperation project marking a new achievement in infrastructure cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
In Kazakhstan's process of upgrading its core logistics hubs, the Almaty International Inland Port, a key node connecting the China-Europe freight train and the Caspian Sea shipping route, has long been hampered by aging equipment. Therefore, it is difficult for its container throughput efficiency to meet the surging demand for cross-border freight. As a leading Chinese port equipment manufacturer, Dafang Heavy Industry successfully won this order thanks to its technological reliability and industry expertise.
Tailored to Kazakhstan’s severe continental climate and cold-climate port conditions, Dafang’s RTG container cranes feature -40℃ low-temperature resistance and adaptability, intelligent and efficient container-handling systems, and 24/7 continuous operation capability. Kazakhstan customers expected this project to address the urgent needs for equipment upgrade for local logistics in Almaty ports.
On the shipment site (visible in the accompanying visuals), workers coordinated with heavy-duty gantry cranes to secure the wrapped weatherproof equipment onto multi-axle flatbed trucks, ensuring safe cross-border delivery.
Upon completion of installation, these 10 RTG container stacking cranes will boost the port's container handling efficiency by over 30%, while the reliable Dafang technical team will provide operational training for local operators.
Once operational, these container gantry cranes will boost container throughput efficiency at the target port by over 30%, optimizing cargo flow between Central Asia and global markets.
This project embodies the “Belt and Road” spirit of “joint construction and shared benefits”: China's high-end equipment meets Kazakhstan's development needs, elevates regional logistics connectivity, and serves as a model for deepening China-Kazakhstan cooperation in industrial equipment and supply chain infrastructure.
Beyond equipment export, the Belt and Road Initiative deepens industrial synergy between China and Kazakhstan, helping Kazakhstan consolidate its position as a Central Asian logistics hub and seamlessly connecting the Belt and Road's land-sea corridors. It vividly demonstrates how China's high-quality manufacturing drives mutually beneficial cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Going forward, Dafang Crane will continue to focus on port green transformation needs, providing “customized + localized” container crane lifting solutions to upgrade the efficiency of international logistics hubs.
