What Is Anode Carbon Block Stacking Crane?

Anode carbon block stacking crane is a special lifting equipment for handling and stacking raw anode and roasted anode carbon blocks in the aluminum electrolysis industry. Carbon block stacking crane mainly consists of bridge frame, trolley running mechanism, lifting mechanism, guide device, clamp device, control system, electric hoist and other parts. It adopts a high-rigidity bridge structure and is equipped with a high-temperature resistant clamp system. It can efficiently complete the grabbing, handling, stacking and furnace loading and unloading of carbon blocks.

This stacking crane adopts a box-type double-beam bridge structure. The main beam is welded from high-strength steel plates, which has excellent bending and torsion resistance, ensuring stability under heavy load conditions. The end beam is equipped with a three-in-one drive unit (motor, brake, and reducer integrated), driving the wheels to run smoothly. Trolley running mechanism adopts a dual-track dual-drive form, with a variable frequency speed regulation system to achieve precise positioning and anti-sway control, and meet the needs of high-precision stacking.

The lifting height can reach 15~30 meters, meeting the requirements of multi-layer stacking. The steel wire rope is made of high-temperature resistant galvanized material to prevent the high temperature and corrosive gas in the roasting workshop.

Clamp is the core working device, taking a double-beam four-claw hydraulic clamp. This is suitable for grasping raw anodes (normal temperature) and baked anodes (high temperature). The clamp claws can withstand high temperature environments of 300~1000℃. And hydraulic system is equipped with proportional valve control to achieve adjustable clamping force to avoid damage to the carbon block. Some models use automatic centering function to ensure that the carbon blocks are stacked neatly.

Main Application of Anode Carbon Block Stacking Cranes

• Transfer and stacking of raw anode carbon blocks
  In the anode assembly workshop, raw anode carbon blocks need to be transferred to the baking furnace or temporary storage area after forming. The carbon block stacking crane grabs the carbon blocks through hydraulic clamps or vacuum suction cups and stacks them neatly in the designated area for subsequent roasting or loading.
• Loading and unloading of baked anodes
  In the anode baking workshop, it loads the raw anode carbon blocks into the baking furnace (ring furnace or tunnel kiln), and takes out the high-temperature (800~1200℃) cooked anodes after baking. Due to the extremely high temperature, the block stacking crane needs to be equipped with high-temperature resistant clamps or suction cups, and adopts heat insulation protection measures to ensure the stable operation.
• Cooling and stacking of baked anodes
  After the cooked anodes are taken out of the furnace, they need to be cooled to room temperature. It transfers them to the cooling area and stacks them according to the process requirements. Some aluminum plants use multi-layer three-dimensional storage, and the cranes need to have high-precision positioning capabilities to ensure that the carbon blocks are stacked neatly and improve the utilization rate of storage space.
