I. Project Background And Product Introduction

During the National Day holiday in October 2025, Dafang Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. (Dafang Crane), a top 10 Chinese overhead crane manufacturer, partnered with a well-known Brazilian automotive parts manufacturer. We intended to deliver one QD-type 30 Ton double girder bridge crane to their São Paulo production base to solve the problem of efficiently handling large molds and metal raw materials.

This project not only needed to meet Brazil's stringent NR12 safety certification standards but also had to withstand high-temperature operating environments. At the same time, our overhead crane must be compatible with their workshop's special working conditions of a 24-meter span and a 16-meter lifting height. In addition, the manufacturing, delivery, and installation had to be completed within 45 days.

II. Project Requirements and Challenges

The client's production base primarily undertakes the casting and machining of automotive chassis components. The existing lifting equipment suffered from insufficient lifting capacity and low operational precision, resulting in mold replacements taking up to 4 hours per instance.

The new equipment needs to achieve:

• Compliance: Passing the Brazilian NR12 occupational safety certification, covering structural strength, electrical protection, and operational safety;
• Efficiency: Lifting speed of 0.5-10 m/min, trolley travel speed of 0.3-20 m/min, enabling rapid mold transfer;
• Adaptability: Withstanding the dusty and oily environment of the workshop, and being compatible with the local Brazilian 380V/60Hz electrical system.

III. Customized Solutions

1. Certification Compliance and Structural Strengthening

For NR12 certification, our expert team upgraded key components of the double-beam overhead crane:

• The metal structure uses Q355B high-strength steel, and the main beam underwent fatigue testing (simulating full-load lifting cycles);
• The electrical system works with an IP56-grade explosion-proof control box and emergency power-off device, and wiring complies with Brazilian ABNT standards;
• Provide Portuguese-language technical documents, operation manual, maintenance guide, and load test report issued by a third-party testing agency to ensure a one-time certification approval.

2. Technology Adaptation and Efficiency Optimization

Combined with the needs of the automotive manufacturing scenario, the equipment integrates several innovative designs:

• Utilizes a variable frequency speed regulation & PLC control system, controlling the lifting and running motion accuracy within ±2mm, reducing mold alignment time to 30 minutes per cycle;
• Equips an intelligent monitoring module, collecting data such as lifting weight, running speed, and motor temperature in real time, providing fault warnings via a local server;
• Adds an anti-sway device to the hook, controlling the sway amplitude within 5° when lifting at full load of 30 tons, ensuring operational safety.

IV. Brazilian Customer's Feedback

On November 9th, the 30 Ton overhead crane was successfully delivered to Brazil. 5 days later, the customer praised our QD-type double girder overhead crane for its stability, efficiency, and durability, showing their satisfaction.

After the equipment was put into operation, the customer's workshop mold handling efficiency increased by 40%, and the estimated annual production capacity increased by approximately 15%.
