What Is Marine Travel Lift Crane?

Marine travel lift, also called as yacht crane, is a lifting equipment specially for yacht lifting, shifting and drainage operations. Its structural design requires stability, safety and operational convenience. The overall structure can be divided into three main parts: base support section, boom system and spreader actuator. Each section works together to ensure efficient and safe yacht lifting.

Base support section is the foundation part of the yacht crane, usually welded by high-strength steel structure and fixed to the dock, deck or mobile platform by anchor bolts or welding. This section contains a rotary support device (suitable for rotary cranes) that enables the boom to rotate horizontally to expand the operating range. The base usually integrates a hydraulic power unit or an electrical control system.

Boom system is the core stress-bearing component of a marine lift hoist. Its structural form includes fixed, telescopic or folding arm to meet different operating needs. The main boom adopts box-shaped beam or truss structure to reduce its weight while ensuring strength. The amplitude variable mechanism adjusts the elevation angle of the boom through a hydraulic cylinder or a wire rope pulley set to adjust the lifting radius.

The spreader is in direct contact with the yacht and is usually composed of a hook, a balance beam, a nylon suspender or a special fixture to ensure the even distribution of the load and avoid damage to the hull. Some yacht cranes are also equipped with anti-swing control system and automatic positioning function to make the lifting process more stable. In addition, safety devices such as overload protection, emergency braking and wind speed monitoring systems further enhance the reliability and safety of the equipment.
